Motoyuki Yoshioka of Konami JPN has confirmed that they are already in the planning stages for Metal Gear Solid 4. Although Hideo Kojima has stated that Snake Eater will be his last work on the Metal Gear Solid series, it seems that there will be more further installments in the series. It seems likely to me, that we will be waiting until next-generation, for Metal Gear Solid 4, but that's just a guess.

Ryan, why even bother posting that? You and I both know its not going to appear on Gamecube, Revolution, DS, GBA, or anything from Nintendo. It'll either appear on ps3 or 2. Konami hates us, remember? Don't bother mentioning The Twin Snakes, the only reason we got that is because Nintendo forced them to (okay, maybe not). They are a horrible company with no heart! Don't mention those horrid Disney games either, those games are not only bad, they are an insult to Nintendo and its fans, and they worsened the kiddie image that has already been dogging Nintendo since the N64 generation. And they wonder why none of their games sell on the cube, because they've only put out uber horse crap that they pulled out of their asses! Figures, those games, when they're bought, only wind up getting flushed down the toilet anyway!

Because the Metal Gear Solid series kicks major major ass, and because this is the Next Generation Discussion forum.

Oh. But still, I wish it would come to all consoles, not just PS2 and Xbox.

No where in my post did I even mention Nintendo, or the possibility of MGS4 coming to a Nintendo console at all. This Forum is for the discussion of all next-generation consoles. And yes, it's highly likely that MGS4 will be on a next-generation console.
And regardless, Konami generally makes awesome games. Metal Gear Solid, Boktai, Castlevania, Silent Hill...They're a great development house.

Didn't Kojima say he wanted to end the series. No, Kojima said that he is done Directing the series. He didn't work on Metal Gear Ac!d...And he says he won't work on MGS4. But the game is in development, by his development team at KCEJ. He also stated that Metal Gear Online is still possible, but if it ever comes into production, then he won't be involved.

I know, but I remember him saying that he wanted to end the series after MGS 2. No, once again, he said that MGS2 would be the last Metal Gear Solid that he worked on. But he decided to do MGS3 due to the wants of the fans.

Kojima talked about Metal Gear Solid 4 at the recent Snake Eater launch party in Europe...
- Kojima will serve as Executive Producer - It will appear on the next-gen consoles - New Director and Producer - There will be "no place to hide"
Could MGS4 be an all out action game this time around? I also hear that it will star Solid Snake and continue from where MGS2 picked off...But those last bits are unconfirmed.

I don't know. I don't want to see it go full out action like Resident Evil 4. I think it can be more action oriented, swing the camera down behind the back, but keep in what little stealth there really is in MGS. That would rock. Maybe his quote "No where to hide" refers to the fact that the enemy won't have anywhere to hide because the camera will be different giving you a better view?

I think Kojima is referring to the enemy AI. He's trying to say that they'll be smart as hell.
